This Solar Thermal installation course introduces common
UK Solar Thermal systems and covers the following

The
syllabus covers the selection, design, installation
and maintenance of domestic solar hot water systems.
It includes practical sessions on purpose built roof
rigs and live demonstration solar equipment. The
class sizes are small with an average attendance of
6-8 candidates to an experienced solar hot water
tutor.
The course is
aimed at plumbers and heating engineers wishing to
gain further qualifications and skills in the
commercial provision of solar hot water heating
systems. The course is 2 days in duration with a
third day available for candidates who do not hold a
current unvented hot water certificate (a mandatory
prerequisite).
Candidates completing Solar Thermal Installer
Training should have the following prerequisite
qualifications:
Unvented hot water certificate
NVQ level 2 in plumbing and heating or 2 years
industry experience
Assessment on this
course will include a multiple choice examination
and practical assessment using a demonstration Solar
Thermal system.
