If you are currently working within the ‘air conditioning’ sector either designing, installing, or servicing/maintaining systems you may qualify for the APEL (Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning) route to becoming a qualified ACI assessor.

Rather than attending a training course and building a portfolio of evidence you may only need to submit 3 ‘sample’ lodgements to ensure you meet the National Occupational Standards.

To follow this route you need to be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Two years of practical experience within the past five years.

Cost: £450+VAT for APEL Training course. Training uses candidates existing knowledge and introduces them to the Energy Assessment Software. Prior knowledge will need to be used to effectively complete correct Energy Assessments. A one day training course is essential to introduce candidates to the use of this software and energy assessment of Air Conditioning systems..

Registration and Assessment: £450+VAT. Assessment of your Prior Experimental Learning is included within this price and accreditation with Northgate is fully included.
